We made our first foray into the world of Instagram video after the latest pieces from Catherine Weitzman Jewelry arrived in the store - lots of sparkly 'shaker' rings, earrings and necklaces to ooh and ahh over. When we slipped on these lovely and colorful rings, we couldn't help but shake it like a Polaroid picture!

Dara Ettinger's Enchanting Druzy Jewlery

Dara Ettinger's beautiful, sparkling pieces are always a Maya* favorite. Her pieces elegantly combine the natural beauty of druzy and geode with sterling silver or gold plated settings and chains. Druzy is a unique stone that glitters and shimmers for days, it catches the eye and draws the viewer deeper and deeper into it's glittery abyss.  If there's one thing we can confirm, it's that druzy is a show stopper!

Geode

Druzy is a coating of fine crystals on a rock surface or within a geode. When cracked open, a geode reveals crystals on the inside. When the crystals are small, and look like a coating of glittering stardust, it's called druzy. Druzy exhibits Mohs scale hardness of 7. This means it is fairly hard and thus durable in jewelry. And, as an added durability benefit, druzy crystals will not crumble or fall off in normal use.

We think Dara Ettinger achieves a harmonious balance between fashion and nature, and we love her for it!
