By combining traditional and modern techniques and working with a vast array of materials, Mercedes Salazar creates beautifully unique designs, brimming with imagination and whimsy. The Colombian born designer says that she enjoys playing with light, color and texture to reflect her admiration of handmade jewelry. She works loosely with religious symbolism and takes cues from Latin American and Western culture.
