It’s official. SXSW has finally arrived here in Austin, and it’s only a matter of time before we will be standing in crowd somewhere listening to a band we’ve been waiting months to hear. Luckily, the music won’t be bouncing off buildings for a few more days…so you can still stop by Maya Star to get your essential SXSW jewelry. Here are a few picks that we would love to rock at a show.

1.Virgin, Saints and Angels ring: This ring isn’t any ordinary chunky ring. VSA designed it with its notorious religious detail and edgy touch.

2. Monserat De Lucca lighter ring: This 100% brass ring is one that can handle any kind of tough love, and with an actual spin on the lighter starter, it doesn’t last long in the store!

Though the heat is still hanging on here at Maya* Austin, in other parts of the country it's actually starting to cool off. While the fair weather is welcome, it leaves many of us wondering what to do with those cute summer dresses we bought over the last few months. Simple solution: Accessories! Turn that warm-weather wardrobe fall-friendly with layers, blazers and boots! One of the biggest design influences for Spring/Summer this year was military. Designers as diverse as Balmain, Celine, and Jean Paul Gaultier sent models down the runway in their version of military style. From the literal interpretations of army jackets and boots, to the subtle details on a short tight dress, the inspiration was hard to miss. This style was soon picked up by magazines such as Vogue and countless editorials featuring models in faded green and khaki in settings as diverse as city streets and sandy beaches have been seen everywhere. Military is definitely a trend that can work for everyone and allows itself to be interpreted in a number of different ways, so have fun with it!
